Revolutionising Infant Health Through Biotech

BoobyBiome, founded in 2019 at UCL’s Institute of Child Health, is on a mission to ensure every baby can access the benefits of the breast milk microbiome. The company has developed innovative products, including a breast milk storage device to preserve natural probiotics and a synbiotic supplement to support the gut health of formula-fed and preterm infants.

Dr. Lydia Mapstone, BoobyBiome CEO, expressed her gratitude for the recognition:

We are thrilled to be included in the Hurun UK Under 30 list. It’s a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team and a reflection of the growing importance of biotech in solving global health challenges. We’re proud to contribute to this dynamic sector and are excited to continue transforming infant health.

Celebrating the Achievements of Young Entrepreneurs

Rupert Hoogewerf, Chairman and Chief Researcher of the Hurun Report, said:

These inspiring young entrepreneurs are the future of the British economy. Our country rightly celebrates the achievements of young musicians and young sportsmen. It’s vital business founders of the same age also get the credit and recognition they deserve.

Biotech as a Leading Sector

This year’s Hurun list highlights the prominence of biotech, with 14 representatives making it the best-represented sector. BoobyBiome’s inclusion reflects the growing interest and investment in health solutions addressing critical needs, including infant health and gut microbiome development.

The recognition of BoobyBiome’s founders underscores their role as leaders in the biotech sector, leveraging cutting-edge science to deliver impactful health solutions. Their achievements reinforce the importance of young innovators in shaping the future of healthcare and entrepreneurship.
