The company has recently received the prestigious InnovateUK Smart Grant to support the development of a novel device aimed at improving the quality of stored breast milk.

However, the shelf life of breast milk is limited, making it challenging for mothers to store and transport it. With the support of the InnovateUK Smart Grant, BoobyBiome is making significant strides towards bringing its innovative device to market. The device is designed to be compact, portable, and user-friendly, offering parents a convenient and effective way to store and transport their breast milk without compromising its quality. This ensures that the milk remains safe and healthy for babies while also reducing waste. Additionally, the device has potential for use in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) where stored breast milk is critical for nourishing vulnerable, preterm infants.

The Innovate UK Smart Grant is the second eminent award granted to BoobyBiome this year. Dr. Lydia Mapstone was also awarded a Women in Innovation grant, which aims to expand the range of BoobyBiome products.
